Hulkenberg stays quiet over future

4 October 2012

Nico Hulkenberg has stayed quiet over his future in F1 amidst speculation linking him with Ferrari for 2013.

Reports have suggested that the Italian team is looking at one of Hulkenberg, Paul di Resta and Felipe Massa to partner Fernando Alonso next year, while Force India has already said it is keen to retain both of its drivers if possible for next year.

Speaking in Japan ahead this weekend's race, Hulkenberg refused to be drawn about his future although he admitted that the driver market had changed after moves for both Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez were confirmed last Friday.

"Obviously there has been quite a lot of movement last week and there is still a lot of speculation out there," he said. "All I can say is that for my future nothing has been announced yet. We will have to wait a bit more.

"There has been a lot of movement and there are still talks with my current team - there's still a chance that I will race here. But with the movement there was last week things happened.

"I'm just here to concentrate on my job here. If you do a good job, as we've seen with Sergio, things can happen and journalists put you into various seats, but it's all hypothetical."

Hulkenberg joined Force India as test and reserve driver last year after leaving Williams and was promoted into a race seat for 2012.
