Bianchi: We are back where we need to be
10 June 2013
Marussia driver Jules Bianchi says his team has returned to form following their two-car finish at the 2013 F1 Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Bianchi, who posted a DNF in Monaco a fortnight earlier, finished 17th on Sunday with team-mate Max Chilton in 19th.
The Frenchman was pleased to be able to return to the sort of pace that the team showed in the earlier stages of the weekend, and now believes Marussia are back where they need to be.
“It was good to be able to enjoy a dry race today because we were back on the pace we were showing earlier in the weekend,” he said.
“I think the result is quite pleasing and we are back where we need to be in terms of the competition. We hope for good things from our next step in Silverstone, where we will be aiming for a good performance in an important race for the Team.”
Bianchi's rookie team-mate Max Chilton was also pleased with his display in Montreal, and kept alive his run of finishing every Grand Prix in his début season after crossing the line 19th.
Chilton, 22, was particularly pleased with the team's tyre management in Canada and is feeling optimistic heading to his home race at Silverstone in three weeks' time.
“I was quite pleased with how well we were managing the tyres,” he said. “It was good to add to our tally of two-car finishes though and we can feel optimistic as we head towards a very important race for the Team and for me - our home race, the British Grand Prix.”
