Grand Prix Ball returns F1 glamour to London
11 June 2013
The 2013 Grand Prix Ball, which is due to kick off the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone in style on 27 June, will provide a rare chance to see some of the world's rarest F1 cars up close.
Last year's event witnessed London's only F1 live demonstration, as Jerome d'Ambrosio took to the wheel of a contemporary Lotus, but, this year, cars from the James Hunt era will perform a one-of-a-kind 'race' around the stunning grounds of the Hurlingham Club on the banks of the river Thames. Cars from the Seventies through to the present day will be on display at the event.
Attendees will include legends from the world of F1 as well as celebrity motorsport fans, while British rock pop band The Feeling will be headlining the evening entertainment. Team boss turned celebrity pundit Eddie Jordan will be the host for the event, but is also expected to take to the drums with his band!
The evening will be compered by BBC
's Chris Hollins, and the monies raised on the night will go to CLIC Sargent, who have benefited from the hundreds of thousands of pounds raised by the event over recent years.
"We're excited to bring F1 glamour to London, and that this year we will be able to showcase the era of James Hunt, with amazing cars,” Jonny Dodge, CEO of organiser GP Management enthused, “We are extremely pleased too that we can raise so much money for CLIC Sargent in the process."
