Is this MotoGP's golden era?

Are we currently seeing the golden era of MotoGP? The races are mostly unpredictable, and massively competitive because there are so many riders performing at their peak (or still unbelievably well - Rossi)

Is this the best it's ever been? Or can you remember seasons past that you think were better?

2015 was probably full of

2015 was probably full of more drama because of how it ended with the Rossi/Marquez collision and Lorenzo claiming the title. This season was probably a better all round season but that really sticks out for real drama and emotion in sport

But yeh this probably is the golden generation of riders and I reckon Rossi can compete for a few more seasons yet which is brilliant. It's a shame MotoGP isn't on normal tv because I think it would get a MASSIVE audience and grow its fanbase if more people could see just how good it is right now

The bikes are better the

The bikes are better the riders are better and almost anyone can win every race. MotoGP is definitely on the up and I can't remember it being better than this

If it is not a golden era,

If it is not a golden era, then please tell me what it was and for which reasons.

Last season we had 5 guys within realistic possibility of winning the title on 3 different bikes, satellites on podium (despite not winning) on regular basis even in the dry, and when the form is off the top rider can be 10th or lower as opposed to 5-6th like it was some years back.

What other criteria could there be that is not currently being met?

First bike race meeting I went to featured Hailwood, Agostini, Ivy and Read and I've followed the sport and all the great riders ever since. 2017 is the best it's been.
