Rossi the Arsene Wenger of MotoGP - he just needs to retire

Rossi hasn't won a MotoGP title for what, 8 years?? and he won't win next season either.

Fair play he was a very good rider some years back but he is now well past his best.

He's a has been and needs to retire and do something else.

Surely there are some who see sense on here and agree with this?

Sadly, have to agree with

Sadly, have to agree with this - apart from saying Rossi was a 'very good rider' as that doesn't come anywhere near describing how good he was

GOAT

WTAF are you talking about?

WTAF are you talking about? Yes he hasn't won a title for a while but Rossi has remained competitive throughout and has said he'll keep racing until that is no longer the case.

There is absolutely no reason why he can't be in contention to win the title next season - and then IF he chooses to retire at the top he can bow out at the absolutely pinnacle of the sport and as the undisputed GOAT

The guy's an absolute legend and MotoGP is a much better place with Valentino Rossi in it, why on earth would anyone want him to retire early?

He's the fucking GOAT and the

He's the fucking GOAT and the longer he can race competitively the better. It's going to be a dark day in MotoGP when he eventually does retire

I'm torn by this. I love

I'm torn by this. I love Rossi and I'd like to see him race on, but a bit of me does think that some of the other riders would get to come out of his shade and turn into stars in their own right if he retired

Maybe give it one more go next season and if it doesn't work out Rossi should retire then? That's prob what's going to happen anyway

Yes...

He's said he'll only race while he remains competitive. Whether or not he is racing at his best... Only he knows. But for as long as he is still riding, he clearly believes still has the capability to win

As long as he's competitive

As long as he's competitive then he should keep racing, and he's still more than that at the moment. I actually fancy him for the title next season

Rossi leaving MotoGP would
Rossi leaving MotoGP would still be disastrous for the sport, yes he may be becoming more uncompetitive but he is still the biggest draw for the crowds and if he goes I think we will see a lot of money flow out of the sport with him... Which is why Dorna are probably looking to sell

I don't know if you watched

I don't know if you watched the 2015 season but it seemed to me that he could well have been champion then and in some people's eyes, including practically everybody inside the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, in November of that year, where I was, he was the real champion, don't take my word for it though - just watch the post-race footage. Apart from that, when there's been no outside interference, he's been competitive ever since so why should he retire ?
