Yamaha what's going on?

Yamaha's worst season in 10 years and the first time since 2007 that they haven't had a rider in the top two WTF?

What's the issue? Should Rossi and or Vinales shoulder some of the blame? Do you think Yamaha will be back at the top next season or is it going to be Ducati and Honda again?

Rossi and Vinales seemed to

Rossi and Vinales seemed to be at odds with each other midway through the season disagreeing on best way to solve the issues. Clearly the acceleration wasn't there and Rossi wanted to change things up to try and find a fix but Vinales wanted to stick with the bike as it was.

Maybe some reluctance to change from Vinales and lack of harmony between the riders has slowed progress but I think Yamaha will be working their arses off to sort everything and you can bet they'll be back stronger and fired up next season.

Vinales has the ability and is going to win a lot more races in 2018 and I actually think Rossi is going to be even more competitive and fired up the more people start to write him off.

I think the problem was too

I think the problem was too much tinkering. The bike was flying early doors then they started to change things and the problems occurred and they've struggled to find the right fix ever since.

If they get it working for the start of next season I'm sure they won't change things as quickly and will stick rather than twist relying on the riders to get the most out of the bikes

Ever considered the riders

Ever considered the riders might not be as good as everyone seems to think they are?

They're missing Lorenzo. No

They're missing Lorenzo. No coincidence he's gone to Ducati and they're doing much better

In Mugello they almost won

In Mugello they almost won the race,,,and they proved they (M1) have the speed and also acceleration is not that far away,,,Because MV was sticked to the Dovi's tail...But suddenly Sinked to bottom at Montemelo and even after Austin they struggled at Jerez...At Assen Rossi was good and MV was very bad in rain conditions...Its really strange to see such sudden fall for Such Very Big team...But they can come back...they are not new team and not fighting for survival...They are big...so they analyse and come as fast as they fallen...I hope so...

They had a very stiff bike

They had a very stiff bike that worked well around the softer carcas front tire because the tyre took some of the damping then the front tyre got stiffer and I believe the bike was to stiff for the new front tire. After that they tryed working around it moving weight to the back witch destoyed it self in the proces. In the end the riders tryed propobly very hard to be even more smooth on the bike but it would have been a downhill battle. Also lets not forget that the Ducati came in to the ecuation, it was laying in waiting and the rider that they payed 12mil for could not ride around the frontend and gave them the push they needed to make that part work.

So concluding, Yamaha had a bad year(it happans), Ducati did good and Honda was Honda. That is enginering on the edge sometimes you mess up that tiny litle bit and every thing goes to shit.

I beleive this is a result

I beleive this is a result everything is adopted to suit Valentino to much,  that is why Vinales is somehow trapped at Yamaha.  Yamaha is doing everything to make Rossi vinning, but with all the regulations bikes becomes very equal , there is no room for one brand to be better one season , next season the other like it was in he past. So if  put all riders on the same bike, than Valentino is somewhere fifth sixth fastest but defenatelly not on top in speed ( which is still good for his age ) , also he has problem with concentration , many mistakes -   Age. How to expect from him  to be better and better at his age and on the oposite site , yong guys to get worse and worse. It is well known , he is an icon in motogp , he brings a hell of a money there , so it is not easy to just let him go ....

But Yamaha is somehow in trouble because of him I would say

Well Maverick was dominating

Well Maverick was dominating until Rossi decided they had to change the chassis, the rest is history. It’s the same old, same old story in the blue garage. Difference is Lorenzo had a stronger character than Viñales, he was able to stand up to Rossi, after leaving Yamaha he said he didn’t even let Meregalli in his box because ‘he was too much for Rossi’. It is what it is in that garage, and I would feel sorry for Viñales but he should have known. He started the year so confident and by the end of the season he was a broken man, crying in his box in Valencia with the sunglasses on to hide it. Anyway I hope Yamaha continue undermining their fastest rider in the hopes of Rossi winning again, it’s suiting Honda and indeed Ducati just fine. Keep it up Jarvis!

@Garcia

Yes the key is in Lin Jarvis hand... How he handled the team as 'racing team'  and not as movie star  team....
