Pons confirms Martinez, Leo

Pons Racing will sport a revised driver line-up in this year's World Series by Renault after retaining Marcos Martinez and signing Federico Leo.

The Spanish team is the latest to confirm its full line-up for the upcoming season, with some time GP2 driver Martinez being charged with leading their title offensive after an encouraging maiden season in the category last year.

Finishing 15th in the overall standings, Martinez showed flashes of promise with his run to second place at Silverstone, although a further podium finish at Estoril was taken away from him when he was judged to have caused an avoidable accident.

Leo, meanwhile, graduates to the World Series after a season spent racing in the German Formula 3 Cup with Ombra Racing. One podium finish was his crowning moment on the way to ninth in the final classification.

Pons, who have not won a World Series race since Miguel Molina triumphed at their home Barcelona round in 2007, finished a lowly 11th overall last season with the combination of Martinez, Maximo Cortes and Aleix Alcaraz.
