Arden Motorsport has announced that William Buller will complete their line-up for the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 season alongside Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup champion, Pierre Gasly.
He enters this year with some experience at the helm of a 3.5 litre model after contesting part of the 2013 season with Zeta Corse. This was combined with his commitments in British F3.
The British driver's six points finishes from 10 starts got him noticed by the top bosses at Arden, something the team's Technical Director, Julian Rouse mentioned.
“Will was really competitive in FR3.5 at the end of the 2013 season, obtaining some good consistent results,” he said.
“He impressed us a lot with this and showed some great potential when he tested with us in the winter,” he added.
Rouse continued to applaud Arden's brand new line-up noting that the combination of Buller and Red Bull's latest prodigy, Gasly could be successful.
“With his experience and a strong team-mate in Pierre to push him along, we have no doubt that he can go one step further in 2014 and challenge for race wins. We are really looking forward to working with him,” he concluded.
Buller also expressed his delight at working with the British outfit following a promising testing campaign in Barcelona and suggested that the partnership could garner him his maiden FR3.5 victory and, possibly, the title.
“I am delighted to join the Arden Motorsport team,” he said. “They have a great group of people onboard and after working with them over winter testing, I believe we can work well together and fight for the title.”
Arden Motorsport endured a mixed season in 2013 with Antonio Felix da Costa and Pietro Fantin to finish fourth in the standings. Their new line-up will now fire up their 3.5 litre engines during pre-season testing in Motorland, Aragon.
