One time leader, Pierre Gasly posted consistent lap times to slot in third fastest followed by Marco Sorensen and Nikolay Martsenko who both enter their third consecutive Formula Renault 3.5 season this year.
Roberto Merhi showed great improvement to secure his first top ten finish of the pre-season test. Just two tenths separated Merhi and Lotus' Marlon Stockinger for sixth and seventh place respectively.
Despite showing impressive pace in previous testing sessions, Oliver Rowland, Carlos Sainz Jr and Jazeman Jaafar settled for the remaining top ten positions.
Tio Ellinas moved from Tech 1 Racing to Pons Racing, pacing seventeenth at the close of the morning test. Subsequently, Marco Sorensen was the only representative for Tech 1 Racing.
Zoel Amberg stopped on track, causing some disruption to the busy morning test. The Suiss driver finished down in twentieth place.
