Dean Stoneman denied Matthieu Vaxiviere a clean sweep of the timesheets in Aragon after finishing quickest in the afternoon session of the final pre-season test ahead of the 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 season.
The Briton put in a hot lap of 1m 41.273s just minutes before the chequered flag and his time remained unbeaten despite challenges from Vaxiviere and Beitske Visser.
Visser briefly grabbed P2 with a quick lap just 0.055 seconds off Stoneman's time but his lap was later deleted after officials discovered problems with the weight of his car.
This late decision enabled Vaxiviere to jump into second place on the timesheets but wasn't able to make it four top spots from four sessions. The Lotus driver did notch up the fastest lap of the day after going quicker in the morning session with a 1m 40.662s and remained the only driver on either day to break the 1m 40s barrier.
Conditions at the Aragon track stayed sunny and dry but turned windy in the afternoon, which was noticeable in the slight drop in lap times by the majority of drivers.
Vaxiviere had controlled the P1 spot for almost the entire test and went quickest midway through the afternoon session as the drivers and teams practiced pit stops and race set up.
British driver Oliver Rowland continued to head the chasing pack by finishing third in the afternoon, while his team-mate Jazeman Jaafar was narrowly behind him. Stoneman's DAMS team-mate Nyck De Vries rounded out the top five.
Tom Dillmann ended the afternoon sixth followed by Nicolas Latifi, Pietro Fantin, Facu Regalia and Egor Orudzhev who completed the top ten.
The next time the Formula Renault 3.5 drivers will get a chance to drive in anger will be at the 2015 season opener, scheduled at the same venue, Aragon, on the 25-26 April.
