Tio Ellinas returned to the cockpit of his 2015 Strakka Racing challenger for the first time since Jerez to top the Friday Formula 3.5 V8 morning time sheets at Motorland, Aragon.

The FR3.5 and GP3 race winner led much of the session after rejoining the Silverstone-based outfit for the third and final day of post-season testing at the Spanish circuit. The Cypriot readjusted to his old 3.5 litre model to lead AVF's Tom Dillmann in the AVF. Dillmann had previously dominated Thursday testing but settled for second in the wake of his rival's blistering 1:40.686s.

Having previously tested for Arden Motorsport this week, Kevin Jorg was the only rookie inside the top seven, more than holding his own in the Lotus. Just one one-thousandth-of-a-second separated Jorg and Red Bull junior Dean Stoneman who capitalised on his 2015 FR3.5 experience for fourth with Carlin.

Egor Orudzhev, eager to contest a second consecutive season in the 3.5 litre series, was once again the fastest Arden Motorsport representative of the session, surpassing confirmed 2016 AVF racer Alfonso Celis Jr and current FR2.0 NEC champion Louis Deletraz. The title holder has one round to his credit from 2015.

Unable to capitalise from fresh tyres, Jake Hughes put in a strong showing for eighth fastest in the second Carlin. His best time was deleted after a yellow flag infringement but his Carlin model still led Pons Racing's Yu Kanamaru - also found guilty of an infringement for being too underweight - and the Arden Motorsport of Jimmy Eriksson to the top ten slots.

Red Bull junior Callum Ilott was one second down on his Strakka Racing stable mate Tio Ellinas for 11th while FR2.0 Eurocup champion was 12th for defending title holders Fortec Motorsports. Meanwhile, Tatiana Calderon prompted a red flag after spinning her Pons at the challenging turn 15, forcing the Columbian down to 15th with one more session of post-season testing remaining.
