Confirmed 2016 driver Tom Dillmann set a new lap record to go fastest on the second morning of Formula 3.5 V8 post-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona.

The Frenchman posted a 1m 28.664s to sit almost one second faster than second-placed Kevin Jorg in his Lotus challenger. Dillmann's team mate at AVF, Alfonso Celis Jr, continued his great month by posting the third fastest lap of the afternoon, just one week after announcing himself as a new Force India test driver.

The current Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup title-holder Jack Aitken – who remains one of the favourites to partner Louis Deletraz at Fortec Motorsports next season – was fourth for the defending team and driver champions with newcomer Josef Zaruba fifth for Pons Racing.

Switching from Arden Motorsport to new team RP Motorsport, German racer Markus Pommer was sixth, closely followed by the Spirit of Race duo of Vladimir Atoev and confirmed 2016 GP3 competitor Matevos Isaakyan. Meanwhile, the Carlin pairing of Pietro Fittipaldi and Monday's leader Jake Hughes completed the top ten.

A debuting Antonio Fuoco was 15th for Arden Motorsport, half a second down on 13th-placed Egor Orudzhev who is expected to stay with the British outfit into 2016.
