Arden Motorsport's Egor Orduzhev dethroned morning leader Matthieu Vaxiviere to finish at the top of the timesheets on the first day of Formula V8 3.5 testing from Motorland, Aragon.

Orudzhev's one-lap flyer was enough to surpass the blistering morning pace of Vaxiviere in the final moments of the afternoon session, jumping the Russian from fourth to fastest overall.

Fellow Formula Renault 3.5 podium finisher Tom Dillmann separated Orudzhev and Vaxiviere with a solid second for AVF while Aurelien Panis made it a 1-4 for Arden Motorsport at the Spanish circuit.

As yet unsigned for 2016, Beitske Visser was fifth for Teo Martin Motorsport, one tenth-of-a-second faster than the reigning Formula Renault 2.0 NEC champion Louis Deletraz. The Swiss racer improved on his time in the afternoon but remained sixth overall.

Meanwhile, Yu Kanamaru, Roy Nissany, Pietro Fittipaldi and a fresh out of retirement Johnny Cecotto Jr. completed the top ten.

Both Cecotto's team mate and the sole driver at Durango, Giuseppe Cipriani, failed to set a lap time in the afternoon after veering off track at turn 7. They will both be looking to improve when Formula V8 testing returns on Sunday for a second consecutive day.
