FV8 3.5: Dillmann takes clear race one pole in Hungary

Tom Dillmann starts the first Formula V8 3.5 race from pole position for AVF, ahead of fellow Frenchman Aurelien Panis.

Tom Dillmann will start the opening race of the second Formula V8 3.5 round from pole position after producing a dominant performance in qualifying at the Hungaroring.

The AVF driver, who also scored a pole at the opening round in Aragon, turned in a top time of 1min 26.729secs to go a mammoth six tenths clear of the opposition around the Hungarian venue.

He leads an all-French front row of himself and Aurelien Panis in the Arden car, the Aragon race winner starting second, ahead of Fortec's Louis Deletraz and practice pace setter Johnny Cecotto.

Matthieu Vaxiviere headed up qualifying early on but would slip back to fifth place, ahead of Force India F1 protégé Alfonso Celis Js and Mateyos Isaakyan.
