Russian racer Egor Orudzhev led rookie Louis Deletraz in Formula V8 3.5 morning practice at the fourth round from Paul Ricard, in what was a return to form for the Arden Motorsport driver.

The teenager has battled several retirements since the start of the FV8 season in April but appeared to regain his rapid one lap pace in the scorching heat of France on Friday morning. His fastest time, a 1m 49.606s, was set mid way through the session.

Orudzhev dominated much of the session, ultimately forcing Deletraz to settle for second with Arden Motorsport team mate Aurelien Panis third on his home turf.

Roy Nissany was fourth fastest for Lotus, just ahead of Vitor Baptista, Rene Binder and championship leader Tom Dillmann. Meanwhile, Matthieu Vaxiviere, Beitske Visser and Yu Kanamaru completed the top ten.

Making his FV8 debut, Johnny Cecotto's replacement Artur Janocz placed 13th for RP Motorsport and some three seconds down on team mate Baptista.
