Israeli racer Roy Nissany controlled morning running to charge to a Lotus 1-2 to lead Formula V8 3.5 first practice at the championship's fifth round from Silverstone.
The 21-year-old produced a best time of 1m 41.843s, building an eight tenth-of-a-second advantage over team mate Rene Binder. Both drivers have already finished on the podium for the Czech outfit this season.
Rene Binder produced last-minute flyer to make it a Lotus 1-2, displacing rookie Louis Deletraz to third and Aurelien Panis fourth and Matthieu Vaxiviere, fifth.
Meanwhile, Tom Dillmann and Pietro Fittipaldi produced the same time, a 1m 43.319s over one rotation of the Silverstone circuit, but the Frenchman was given the slight edge for sixth at the close of the morning session.
Yu Kanamaru was the highest-placed Teo Martin Motorsport driver in eighth, while Vitor Baptista and Egor Orudzhev completed the top ten.
The absence of both Matevos Isaakyan and Artur Janosz has forced the entry list to drop to just 13 drivers this weekend. There will be therefore be one driver each for SMP Racing and RP Motorsport; Vaxiviere and Baptista are their representatives respectively.
