FV8 Silverstone: Lotus stay on top form with second 1-2

Israeli racer Nissany bettered his morning time by four tenths-of-a-second to stay in front, a further three tenths faster than his own team mate, Austrian driver Binder.

Roy Nissany and Rene Binder remained dominant for Lotus during Friday afternoon practice at the fifth of round of the Formula V8 3.5 championship from Silverstone.

Israeli racer Nissany bettered his morning time by four tenths-of-a-second to stay in front, a further three tenths faster than his own team mate, Austrian driver Binder.

Matthieu Vaxiviere improved greatly in the afternoon to go third fastest with championship leader Tom Dillmann a solid fourth for AVF.

Yu Kanamaru was once again the fastest Teo Martin Motorsport representative with fifth, placing him higher than fast-paced youngsters, Egor Orudzhev, Louis Deletraz and Pietro Fittipaldi. Orudzhev saw his best time deleted following a track limit infringement at turn one.

Aurelien Panis was ninth fastest while Force India prodigy Alfonso Celis Jr rounded out the top ten.

The 13 drivers competing this weekend will take to the iconic Silverstone circuit at 09:30 local time for first qualifying. Oliver Rowland and Tio Ellinas were race winners last year for Fortec Motorsports and absentees Strakka Racing respectively.
