Rene Binder stayed fastest to dominate Friday practice at the Red Bull Ring at Formula V8 3.5's sixth round from his home circuit.

The Austrian - four times a podium finisher this season - eclipsed the time he set in Friday morning's session to lap in 1m 16:954s on his 19th rotation.

Swiss rookie Louis Deletraz jumped from third to second fastest overall and just one one-hundredth-of-a-second behind the Lotus challenger.

Meanwhile, championship leader Tom Dillmann was third fastest for AVF, the final driver to dip under the elusive 1m 17s mark. The Frenchman's pace pushed Binder's team mate, two time race winner, Roy Nissany down to fourth.

Further down the order, Aurelien Panis, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Egor Orudzhev were separated by half second for fifth, sixth and seventh respectively with the Teo Martin Motorsport duo of Yu Kanamaru and Beitske Visser just behind.

Matevos Isaakyan returned to the cockpit of his SMP Racing model this weekend. Although he set the same time as Vitor Baptista, the Russian was awarded tenth and his Brazilian rival, 11th.
