Fortec Motorsport has completed its driver line-up for the 2017 Formula V8 3.5 Championship with the signing of Diego Menchaca alongside Mexican counterpart Alfonso Celis Jr.
The 22 year-old switches to the Formula V8 series after finishing fourth overall in the Spanish-based Euroformula Open Championship and brings backing from Mexican communications company Telmex.
Paired with Force India F1 development driver Celis Jr, Menchaca is keen to capitalise on Fortec's impressive record in the series having won the title in 2015 with Oliver Rowland and finished runner-up with Louis Deletraz in 2016.
“I'm very excited to carry on with my sporting career by joining the World Series Formula V8 3.5. It's a natural move for me, specially having attended most of the races last year while I was participating in the EuroFormula Open.
“Winter testing went really well and I can't wait to be behind the wheel. Of course, the fact of having one of the meetings organised in Mexico is going to be the highest point of the Season, with all the Mexican crowds cheering for us!”
