Bonanomi, Sanchez for Comtec, Interwetten?

Two more leading seats in this year's World Series by Renault line-up are poised to be filled, with Marco Bonanomi and Pablo Sanchez rumoured to be on the verge of announcing deals with Comtec and Interwetten.com respectively.

Bonanomi's deal with the 2006 series champions was revealed by italiaracing.net, which confirmed that Jonathan Lewis' squad would have an all-Italian flavour following the earlier capture of Pasquale di Sabatino.

Bonanomi - who is currently contesting the inaugural GP2 Asia Series with Piquet Sports - impressed the British team with his pace in group testing towards the end of 2007, running high up the timesheets at both Vallelunga and Valencia.

"I trust the team and they have faith in me," Bonanomi is quoted as saying, "so I can't hide that we're targeting a title win. People at Comtec - just like me - want to reverse last year's misfortunes. Our motivation will be an essential part of our fight."

Sanchez, meanwhile, will graduate from the Formula Master series with backing from Mexican telecoms giant Telmex, having got the nod to join Interwetten in preference to countryman Sergio Perez. The 17-year old has made a rapid ascent up the racing ladder and will form another one-country line-up when he joins fellow Mexican Salvador Duran.

Both deals are expected to be confirmed in the next week.
