Comtec announces Nebylitskiy signing.

Comtec Racing has revealed that Russian driver Anton Nebylitskiy is its first signing for the 2009 Renault World Series season.

The former Formula Renault runner was one of a number of drivers to test for the team following the conclusion of the 2008 campaign and has now inked a deal which will see him graduate into the World Series this season.

“Having spent the last two seasons racing in the junior Renault European 2.0 litre Championships and having learned the European circuits it makes sense for my career to carry on and keep involved in the Renault-Sport package by joining their 3.5 World Series in 2009,” he said. “I couldn't have asked for a better start by joining one of the main teams in the Renault World Series by Renault in Comtec Racing.

“I fully intend to grasp this fantastic opportunity with both hands and maximise my full potential with such a strong and professional team.”

Team manager Phil Blow was quick to welcome the Russian into the team and said he was confident he would be a strong performer in 2009.

“Anton will be a new and exciting driver for us to work with and his end of season tests with Comtec showed to us he has got tremendous potential,” he said. “We watched Anton's racing last season in the junior 2.0 litre Championship and it is only a natural progression that he should now capitalise on this by taking a season in the 3.5 World Series cars with us.”
