Marsoin to return with Comtec
1 January 1901
Alexandre Marsoin will compete with Comtec Racing in the World Series by Renault in 2009, it has been confirmed today.
Marsoin, who graduated to the WSbR in 2008 and competed with Epsilon Euskadi, is looking forward to trying to build on the 17 points he notched up last season. Indeed following a positive test over the winter, he is hopeful he can do well.
"I feel very happy to join Comtec Racing this year, as during the winter test, the feeling was great with the engineer, and the mechanics too. We did a very good job together and that's why I made this choice," explained the Frenchman.
"They have a lot of experience and the team is very professional with big motivation and I really need that to do a great job this year."
Comtec Racing team boss, Phil Blow and chief engineer, Paul Heath meanwhile both have faith that 19-year-old will be able to get some good results.
"Comtec Racing is proud in having secured the services of Alex for the World Series by Renault in 2009," said Blow. "He had other good opportunities within motorsport so we are pleased that his test results with us were enough to convince him that Comtec is where he can achieve success this year.
"Expectations of Alex's results will be high this season and we hope to capitalise on this early on, using his year's experience in the WSR from 2008."
"I am personally pleased Alex has placed his faith in Comtec," added Heath. "He is young and highly motivated, and his natural pace produced some very quick lap-times when we tested him last November.
"We liked his positive and enthusiastic approach, and feel certain he will be at home in our environment. I think he has considerable potential to go a long way and I am looking forward to great results this year."
