William Buller sat top of the overall time sheets at the close of the Friday sessions in Aragon.

The Briton was the surprise leader following a last minute flyer in the afternoon. His Arden Motorsport model finished three one-hundredths-of-a-second faster than the DAMS of Carlos Sainz Jr. Meanwhile, fellow Red Bull ace, Pierre Gasly was third in the second Arden challenger.

All three drivers dethroned Roberto Merhi in the final moments forcing the Spaniard to settle for fourth overall. Series veteran, Nikolay Martsenko sat fifth, just one thousandth-of-a-second faster than his fellow Russian Sergey Sirotkin.

The Sauber test driver was closely followed by a fast finishing Marlon Stockinger whilst Jazeman Jaafar, who led for much of the afternoon, could not sustain his lap times and sat eighth fastest.

Despite improving on his impressive early morning pace, Will Stevens settled for ninth with Strakka Racing. The Monza race winner was joined in the top ten by FR3.5 rookie, Oliver Rowland.

Once sitting fourth place, Zoel Amberg finished down in thirteenth, three tenths faster than his AVF team mate, Beitske Visser.

It was a tough day for International Draco Racing with Luca Ghiotto and his more experienced team mate, Pietro Fantin finishing fourteenth and sixteenth respectively despite showing impressive pre-season form.

The FR3.5 drivers will return to the track on Saturday morning for the first qualifying session of the weekend. The winners of the Aragon races last year, Kevin Magnussen and Carlos Huertas are not featured in the 2014 FR3.5 line up.
