Norman Nato topped the practice timesheets in Monaco, leading Carlos Sainz Jr for a DAMS Racing 1-2.

The Frenchman was four tenths-of-a-second faster than his team mate, posting a 1:24.689 to outpace Sainz Jr for the first time this year. Jazeman Jaafar, a podium finisher at this same circuit last year, was third fastest for ISR and the Malaysian was a further tenth faster than an ever-improving Sergey Sirotkin.

International Draco Racing won last year with Nico Muller at the helm but settled for fifth with Pietro Fantin. Zoel Amberg's previous Monaco experience seemed to aid his practice session as he sat sixth fastest at the chequered flag.

Currently second in the championship standings, Oliver Rowland was the highest-placed rookie in seventh, fighting off his compatriot, Arden's William Buller. Marco Sorensen and Matthieu Vaxiviere took ninth and tenth place respectively.

Meanwhile Matias Laine, Marlon Stockinger, Pierre Gasly and Will Stevens just missed out on the top ten.

Making his d?but for Comtec this weekend, Andrea Roda was down in twenty-first place. His time, if posted on Saturday, would place him outside the 1:30.574 qualifying limit.

The Formula Renault 3.5 drivers will return to the track on Saturday for qualifying. This weekend, only one race will be contested in the Principality.
