Cameron Twynham has withdrawn from the ninth and final round of the Formula Renault 3.5 championship at Jerez, leaving Comtec Racing without a driver this weekend.

Lotus F1 junior Esteban Ocon drove for the British outfit in Hungary and France but is scheduled to contest the final FIA European F3 championship round this weekend thus forcing the team's third absence of the season.

Comtec also skipped the Spa and Moscow events after Nikolay Martsenko's funding issues left him without a drive. Italian racer Andrea Roda replaced the Russian in Monaco before Twynham's series debut at the Nurburgring.

Team manager Phil Blow expressed his disappointment as the FR3.5 grid suddenly drops to eleven constructors for Jerez.

"This new problem is exceptionally frustrating for us all," he said. "Similarly to the setback we had earlier this season approaching the Spa weekend with Nikolay, we are pretty powerless to react and to get a driver into the car, such is the lateness and unexpected nature of the news."

Blow further confirmed Comtec's presence at the post-season test in Spain next week, insisting that the team has every intention of rejoining the grid full time in 2015. The line up for testing is yet to be confirmed.
