Alexander Albon led Monday morning testing from Motorland, Aragon in his first Formula Renault 3.5 appearance.

The Lotus F1 junior took to the helm of their FR3.5 challenger, displacing long-time leader Pietro Fantin in the latter stages. The Thai driver is making his series debut after an invitation from Renault Sport Technologies to participate in the test.

The 2014 International Draco Racing driver continued his relationship with the team to finish second on the first of three days testing, leading most of the session. The Brazilian's fastest lap, a 1:41.827s, was only two tenths-of-a-second slower than Albon. Beitske Visser continued her impressive run of form for third with AV Formula.

Most of the grid was made up of invited rookies who were taking to Renault's flagship series for the first time this week. Charles Leclerc stepped up from a successful Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup campaign to sit fourth fastest in the Arden Motorsport model with fellow newcomer Andrea Pizzitola fifth in the second Lotus.

Louis Deletraz was sixth fastest in Roberto Merhi's race winning Zeta Corse while Denis Olsen, the FR2.0 Eurocup runner up, led Tio Ellinas to a Strakka Racing 1-2. They were closely followed by the Arden Motorsport of Nicholas Latifi. The Canadian is currently in negotiations with a number of teams for the 2015 season following his podium finish in Jerez last month.

Meanwhile, experienced racer Jazeman Jaafar completed the top ten.
FR2.0 Eurocup champion and McLaren junior Nyck de Vries was twelfth for DAMS Racing weeks after confirming his 2015 drive with the two time champions. GP3 racer Jann Mardenborough, who also invited by Renault Sport, was a big name outside the top ten with the Briton finishing sixteenth for Tech 1 Racing.

The drivers will return to the track for an afternoon test in Aragon before their times are accumulated.
