Matthieu Vaxiviere kept Lotus on top for a second consecutive day during Formula Renault 3.5 post-season testing in Motorland, Aragon.

Leader in the morning, Vaxiviere improved his best time in the latter stages to top the time sheets at the close of Tuesday running. Lotus has a number of drivers in contention for a 2015 seat including Vaxiviere, Alex Albon and Alex Fontana - all of whom are appearing this week for the Czech outfit.

Series rookie Gustav Malja was a strong second in Roberto Merhi's race winning Zeta Corse, almost half a second behind the Frenchman while long-time leader Pietro Fantin settled for third overall. The Brazilian, at the helm of his 2014 International Draco Racing challenger, dropped down the order in the last few minutes.

Experienced Formula Renault competitor Jazeman Jaafar was third for Fortec Motorsports, the runners up in the 2014 constructors' title battle. Egor Orudzhev was fourth fastest, the rookie just one tenth behind Jaafar.

Nicholas Latifi improved on his morning pace to sit sixth fastest in the second Lotus. The Canadian, who finished on the podium at the final FR3.5 round in Spain last month, is also testing with Arden Motorsport and Strakka Racing this week.

The Dutch pairing of Beitske Visser and Nyck De Vries were seventh and ninth fastest respectively with Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup runner up Dennis Olsen separating to two. McLaren junior De Vries was at the helm of Carlos Sainz Jr's championship winning DAMS and will race with the French outfit next year. Fellow rookie Andrea Pizzitola joined the top ten who were all separated by just one second.

Bruno Bonifacio completed just 14 laps during the allocated four hour window, the least of all drivers on track this afternoon. Driving with fellow Brazilian Fantin at International Draco Racing, the FR3.5 newcomer was sixteenth fastest. Meanwhile, Guillaume Cunnington did not return to action this afternoon so was unable to improve on his initial time.

Just one more day of FR3.5 testing remains this week with Lotus looking to make it a hat-trick of fastest times on the Spanish tarmac.
