Alfonso Celis will embark on a dual-campaign in the GP3 Series and the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship in 2015 after penning an additional deal with AVF in the latter.

The Mexican teenager competed in the GP3 Series last season with Status Grand Prix and was one of the first drivers to be confirmed in the same championship for 2015 after agreeing a switch to ART Grand Prix.

However, he will also dovetail his GP3 Series commitments with a campaign in the FR3.5 series too having signed to complete AVF's driver line-up alongside Beitske Visser.

Team manager Adrian Valles - a former FR3.5 and GP2 Series driver - is pleased to have completed his driver line-up with the youngster after impressing in testing.

"I'm delighted to welcome a promising young driver like Alfonso in our line-up. He is one of the best prospects from Mexico, and we already have an option on him for 2016. We showed how effectively we can develop the skills of young drivers approaching the Renault 3.5 series.

"We already knew Celis from a test we had with him with the Renault 2.0 car at the beginning of his career, but now he has also matured a considerable experience in GP3 and in Formula 3. I'm convinced we will be able to achieve the goals we have set for this season."

Celis started two FR3.5 races in 2014 with Tech 1 Racing, but failed to score.
