Bruno Bonifacio says he is ready for the challenges of Formula Renault 3.5, after the driver was announced to be joining International Draco Racing for his rookie season.

The 20-year-old has spent the past three seasons battling in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series with Prema Powerteam and has now graduated to Draco after impressing in testing over the winter.

Speaking exclusively to Crash.Net, the Brazilian driver says he is delighted to join the FR3.5 grid and anticipates a steep learning curve in his debut year.

"I'm very happy to drive for Draco this year and to be part of the team," Bonifacio said. "We have a lot of challenges in front of us this year as this is a new car for me.

"We did the winter tests at the end of last year together already and that was really good to get to know the team personal better and start working with the car as well. I am very excited to start the season. We have already started to work outside of the track and I just can't wait for the first test."

Bonifacio replaces the outgoing Luca Ghiotto and will team-mate the already announced Pietro Fantin, who remains at the team after finishing 15th in last year's championship.
