Facu Regalia has joined Zeta Corse to compete in the Formula Renault 3.5 series for 2015.

The Argentinian driver competed in the opening four rounds of the GP2 series last year with Hilmer Motorsport, coming off of a runner-ups title in GP3 in 2013 with ART Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old has been working with the team for over half a year and says it is a fantastic opportunity to be handed a race seat for 2015.

"Following seven months of intense work I can confirm my participation in FR3.5," Regalia said. "It is another season racing in Europe and joining such a fantastic F1 feeder series with Zeta Corse. It is an opportunity we must do everything in our power to seize, because drivers such as Vettel, Ricciardo, Alguersuari and now Carlos Sainz Jr., who was my rival in the GP3 Series two years ago, were added to its historic roll of honour."

Zeta Corse finished last season fourth in the teams' standings with Russian driver Roman Mavlanov and Spaniard Roberto Merhi competing, with Merhi taking third in the drivers' standings.

"I am very grateful to Zeta Corse, thank you for the trust you have placed in me. This is a completely new experience for me, so I need to make the most of pre-season tests. 2015 is going to be a very important year for me."

The Russian team confirmed Regalia will travel to Valencia to visit its facilities while preparing for the new season, with the first test scheduled for Jerez on the 5-6 March.
