Jazeman Jaafar has switched to Fortec Motorsports and will compete for a third consecutive season in Formula Renault 3.5.

The 22-year-old Malaysian driver competed for Carlin in his rookie season in FR3.5 before moving to ISR Racing for 2014, finishing tenth in the drivers' championship and notching up two podiums in the process.

Jaafar tested for Fortec during the off-season and impressed enough to secure a race seat for the full 2015 season. He joins the already announced Oliver Rowland at the British team.

"I had a really good test with the team in the winter, settling in really quickly and establishing a good rapport with everyone," Jaafar said. "It's great to be getting back in the car with the team at Jerez this week and I hope that we can have a strong showing and a productive test. Having Oliver as a team-mate will be good for me too, as I didn't have a team-mate last year and he has FR3.5 experience, so I have no doubt he'll be quick as well."

The Fortec team has finished second in the teams' standings in FR3.5 for three of the past four season while helping Robin Frijns to the 2012 drivers' crown.

Fortec managing director Jamie Dye says Jaafar's experience in the series was a key factor in selecting the Malaysian.

"We've watched him come through the ranks of the sport and have been impressed with his performance," Dye said. "We wanted to sign an experienced FR3.5 Series driver and after a strong test with Jazeman over the winter where he fitted in well and gelled quickly it was good to be able to secure him for 2015."

The nine-round FR3.5 season commences in Aragon, Spain on the 25-26 April.
