Matthieu Vaxiviere topped the afternoon of the second day timesheets at the opening Formula Renault 3.5 pre-season tests, beating British driver Oliver Rowland by over three-tenths of a second.

The first test in Jerez saw 22 cars and 11 teams take part in the two-day test which was frequently punctuated by red flags as numerous drivers ran off track in Jerez as they got to grips with the 2015 cars.

British duo Rowland and Dean Stoneman suffered particularly heavy crashes but were able to walk away without any injuries and given the all clear to continue.
