Comtec Racing will not compete in the opening round of the 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 Championship after its new deal with Facu Regalia was annulled after just three days.

The Argentinian, a runner-up to F1 driver Daniil Kvyat in the 2013 GP3 Series, had originally signed to race in the series with Zeta Corse before the Russian financed team confirmed its withdrawal from the series last week.

Consequently, the Norfolk-based Comtec Racing team - which hadn't signed a driver just a week before the start of the season - moved to secure his services, announcing his deal on the Tuesday just three days before action gets underway in Spain.

However, Regalia has now confirmed that a change to the financial aspects of the original deal has forced him to end his brief agreement with Comtec, leaving the team without any drivers and out of the event.

Comtec and Zeta Corse's late withdrawals mean just 10 teams and 20 drivers will compete in the 2015 opener.
