Nick Yelloly will make a surprise return to the Formula Renault 3.5 grid as the Renault World Series races at Silverstone this weekend.

The Briton, who raced FR3.5 with Comtec and Zeta Corse before making the step up to GP2 via a year in GP3 last season, will appear for the Charouz/Lotus team as his GP2 seat remains in doubt for the remaining rounds of 2015. Simon Trummer will fill the cockpit at Hilmer Motorsport this weekend as the F1-supporting series heads for Monza, leaving Yelloly to ponder his options.

The former FR3.5 frontrunner had expected to swap single-seaters for sportscars this year, but found himself back in F1 after a WEC/Le Mans bid fell apart at the last minute.
