Tio Ellinas praised his team after securing the fastest time during Formula Renault 3.5 Friday practice at Silverstone.

Ellinas improved on his morning time by two seconds to outpace home favourite Dean Stoneman for Friday afternoon bragging rights. At the close of Friday running, the Cypriot spoke to Crash.net , thanking his team for their hard efforts.

"I was fourth in the morning and I looked at the data with my team and we made some changes, fortunately they were the right changes," he told Crash.net . "I will compare everything with my team mate so it can all continue."

It is Strakka Racing's home circuit with the team based just a few miles away from Britain's historic race track. For, Ellinas, he notes, it is particularly important to secure a strong finish at the sixth round of the championship. Thus far, the team has one podium to his credit with Swedish racer Gustav Malja.

"The team is based in Silverstone so I feel very at home here," he reiterated. "It makes it especially important to do well, the team has been really helpful."

Ellinas' best finish of fourth came at the first round in Motorland, Spain. He hopes to capitalise on his Friday practice advantage when qualifying begins at 9:00BST.
