Andr? Negr?o has been permitted to start Formula Renault 3.5 race two from 19th despite suffering an oil leak in the early moments of qualifying at Le Mans.

Negr?o, who is making his return to Formula Renault 3.5 after a significant driver shake up at International Draco Racing, brought out the red flag in the first few moments after spilling oil from his car number 19. Negr?o was unable to make it back out on track but is thought to have fixed his previous problems in time for the second race at 13:30 CET.

"The stewards, having received a request from the competitor whose best qualifying lap exceeds 107% of the fastest time set during that session, permit the car to start."

Strakka Racing's Tio Ellinas, will lead a French 2-3-4 off the grid after securing his second pole position of the season. This qualifying comes at a time of great change for International Draco Racing.

Negr?o is now the sole driver at the Brazilian outfit which is owned by his father Guto. Series regulars Pietro Fantin and Bruno Bonficiao have vacated their seats with just two rounds of the championship remaining. It is expected that the 23-year-old will juggle racing in final two FR3.5 rounds alongside his GP2 commitments with Arden International.

Negr?o currently sits 21st in the GP2 championship having not scored a point since the first round at Bahrain. This comes after 12th place in the standings last year, again with Arden International.
