Tio Ellinas' 1m 40.686, set on Friday morning, proved unbeatable during Formua 3.5 V8 testing despite a late surge from afternoon leader Tom Dillmann at Motorland, Aragon.

As was the case during much of the 2015 Formula 3.5 season, Dillmann was scrapping for positions with the Strakka Racing model of Ellinas but it was the Cypriot who eventually come out on top on the final day of post-season testing. French racer Dillmann, at the helm of the AV Formula this week, was one tenth-of-a-second behind his rival at the close of Friday running.

In fact, the collective results remained unchanged from the morning session. Subsequently, Kevin Jorg was third fastest for Lotus, the same team which fielded Matthieu Vaxiviere to a runners-up position in 2015 and Dean Stoneman enjoyed an afternoon long battle with Dillmann for times, with the gap as low as seven thousandths at the half-way stage, to finish fourth.

Egor Orudzhev's best time was deleted as his Arden Motorsport was deemed to have improved under yellow flag conditions but this infringement did nothing to hamper his result with the Russian a solid fifth overall for the British outfit. Orudzhev is highly-favoured to stay in F3.5 V8 after securing two wins for its predecessor Formula Renault 3.5 this year.

Further down the order, a trip to the gravel at turn five prompted a red flag from sixth-placed Alfonso Celis Jr and his stranded AVF model. The Mexican, already confirmed at the Spanish squad for 2016, led the less experienced pairing of Louis Deletraz and Jake Hughes at the chequered flag.

Yu Kanamaru and Jimmy Eriksson completed the top ten thus leaving the current Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup champion Jack Aitken in 11th for an ever-consistent Fortec Motorsports. Meanwhile, Antoine Hubert was the only driver not to complete a flying lap in the afternoon, leaving the Frenchman 15th for Tech 1 Racing.

The 3.5 litre, 530 horsepower cars are not expected back out on track until 2016 when F3.5 V8 and its promoters RPM Racing hope to introduce the new teams RP Motorsport and Teo Martin Motorsport who are both yet to d?but. Teo Martin Motorsport is replacing International Draco Racing after buying-out the Italian outfit while RP Motorsport is a brand new squad, yet to give any indication of driver hopefuls for the 2016 season.

With the only seat currently awarded to Mexican racer Celis Jr, 23 seats remain ahead of pre-season testing next year.
