Speaking to Crash.net, a selection of Formula V8 3.5 drivers have praised the iconic British circuit, Silverstone, which hosts the fifth round of the championship this weekend.

FV8 flocked to Silverstone two weeks after the Formula 1 Grand Prix and at the halfway point of the championship. The 18-turn track is a both a fan and driver favourite thanks to its long-standing pedigree and appearance on many a racing calendar.

"I've raced here since I was in Formula 4 so I am very familiar with the track and enjoy it every time," Fortec Motorsport's Pietro Fittipaldi told Crash.net . "I've been living in Surrey for a few years and Fortec is based near here so it is a home circuit for all of us really. I particularly enjoy the combination of fast corners here."

His sentiments were matched by team mate Louis Deletraz, also an FV8 rookie this year. The Swiss took back-to-back victories at the circuit on his way to winning the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC in 2015.

"It is a great track and it is a shame I was more successful here," said the 19-year-old FV8 title contender. "It is also the home circuit for Fortec so that is important, we always want to do well here."

Finally, it was championship leader and single-seater veteran Tom Dillmann who continued to praise the Silverstone round. The Frenchman noted the corner combinations and circuit's renowned layout as one of the reasons behind its popularity.

"I like the high-speed corners like Maggots and Becketts, especially with those FV8 cars, and the first sector is great for balance," the AVF driver explained. "I have raced here once in GP2 and once in FR3.5 last year; it is really, really nice."

The second FV8 race will take place at 13:10 local time, one day after Roy Nissany took his maiden victory.
