Esteban Guerrieri is to make his World Series by Renault debut at Magny-Cours after being lined up to replace the still injured Richard Philippe in the Fortec Motorsport team.

Philippe is still out of action after injuring his hand in a crash at Spa-Francorchamps, but while Yelmer Buurman filled in for him at Donington Park and came away with strong fifth and fourth place finishes, the Dutchman is this time unavailable due to commitments in the Formula 3 Euroseries.

Instead, Fortec have enlisted the services of 22-year-old Guerrieri, who comes to the team clutching a wealth of experience in Formula 3 and Formula 3000.

Guerrieri is currently racing in the British Formula 3 Championship with the fledging Ultimate Motorsport Mygale outfit, where he currently lies 13th in the overall standings. However, one of his best results of the season came at Magny-Cours when the team took part in a one-off Euroseries appearance earlier this year.

He will join James Walker in the team, the Brit heading to France having scored a victory on home soil last time out.
