Runaway championship leader Giedo van der Garde is looking to the skies to maintain his outstanding start to the World Series by Renault season after qualifying second at Monaco.

Although his front row slot gives the Dutchman, who has won three of the first four races, a perfect shot at victory, he is hoping the threat of rain comes to scupper inexperienced pole sitter Charles Pic's chances.

Even so, the P1 Motorsport driver is satisfied to see Pic, rather than rivals Mikhail Aleshin or Marco Bonanomi, ahead of him on the grid.
