GP2 » Asia Series will run final 2011 race at Imola

The GP2 Asia Series will have another outing in 2011 after all - and has signed up the San Marino track of Imola to host the final round of the 2011 season on March 18-20.

Personally I think the GP2 Series should run on circuits that don't quite make the grade for F1 anymore.

F3000 use to do it with circuits like Pau, Mugello, Vallelunga etc....

Personally I think Imola is a suitable candidate for GP2 :D

So James, will you care to tell how is it that a track such as Imola is not adecuate to host an F1 race anymore, while the neglected and dangerous track at Sao Paolo, and the silly and boring tracks at Bahrein and Stanbul are declared to be adecuate?

The GP2 management have surpassed themselves choosing Imola in March to hold a race. GP2 Asia Imola, you have to question their motives. Imola is currently under 1 foot of snow with more snow forcast for the next 2 weeks.. this series is run by idiots

I indeed wish the GP2 series had more meetings outside F1 weekends on other tracks.

Being run as an F1 support event is one thing, that doesn't mean they have to be reduced to just that.

Before someone says "but they are meant to race in front of F1 team directors", they would still do it !
