di Grassi on top at Ricard

Having set the pace on day two of GP2 testing at Paul Ricard, Lucas di Grassi repeated the feat on day three of running at the French test circuit for defending champions Fat Burner Racing Engineering.

di Grassi posted the quickest time of day three during the morning session with a lap of 1min 09.536secs, which proved to be better than the best time set during the afternoon by Campos' Vitaly Petrov.

“This was a very productive day and everyone did a good job,” di Grassi said. “We still have work to do in Barcelona and there is room for improvement.

“The tests here in Paul Ricard have been good and we have definitely started off on the right foot. I am sure we will have a very good season ahead of us.”

Petrov was second quickest but only 0.005secs ahead of Andreas Zuber who also posted his time during the morning for Fisichella Motorsport. Pastor Maldonado was fourth for ART while Javier Villa ended the day in fifth place for Super Nova.

“The whole team have been working hard and are really pleased with the outcomes of this test,” team boss David Sears said. “The drivers have both done a great job here and we are looking ahead to the next test in Barcelona in a couple weeks time.”

Alberto Valerio, Alvaro Parente and Kamui Kobayashi completed the top eight.
