Garcia joins DPR for Jerez test

Victor Garcia is to drive for the David Price Racing team during the GP2 test session at Jerez as he looks to secure a ride for the 2010 season.

The Spanish driver, who ran in the British F3 International Series this season, will drive a GP2 machine for the first time at the official test session and could also return for a second run at Paul Ricard – dependent on performance.

Garcia will test at Jerez with WRC champion Sebastien Loeb and Michael Herck.

“It's been a tough season because we've faced a lot of bad luck,” he said. “But I want to look forward and see what we can do next season.

"I am happy that DPR has noticed me and asked me to join the team for a day of testing. It will be my first contact with a GP2 and I am very enthusiastic with this new challenge. I'm really looking forward to learn about their work methods and I'll certainly do my best to prove that I deserve to become their 2010 driver."
