ART confirms Bianchi to move up

ART has confirmed that Jules Bianchi will graduate to GP2 with the team for the 2010 season.

The Frenchman secured the F3 Euroseries crown – with ART - over the course of the weekend at Dijon and has already impressed at the wheel of GP2 machinery during the recent test at Jerez.

The 20-year-old will now graduate to GP2 with the defending champions next season on the back of his title success and will also contest two rounds of the GP2 Asia Series as preparation for his 2010 campaign.

“Jules showed that he has all the necessary qualities to succeed in the higher levels of motorsport,” team boss Frederic Vasseur said. “It is only logical that we put our trust in him to defend the colours of ART Grand Prix in the GP2 Series, which is the most competitive junior championship on the way to Formula One.“
