Valerio joins Scuderia Coloni

Alberto Valerio looks to build on his maiden GP2 victory at Silverstone with a move to Coloni
A further piece of the GP2 Series puzzle has been put into place after Scuderia Coloni confirmed Alberto Valerio will drive for it in 2010.

The Brazilian will start his third season in the Formula 1 feeder series having spent the last two years competing with the Durango Corse and Piquet GP teams.

Although he failed to score any points with Durango, Valerio won the Silverstone sprint race with Piquet GP in 2009 and would end the season a much improved 15th in the overall standings.

For 2010 though, Valerio will embark on another change of scenery after penning a deal with Italian-based team Coloni, a move he was delighted with.

“I'm very happy, and I want to say thank you to Paolo Coloni for the great chance I'm getting. 2010 will be a key season for the fulfillment of the project I've been working on from when I was a child: becoming a Formula 1 driver.

“I think that Scuderia Coloni is the best team to achieve that, and I want to say thank you to all the people that believed in me in these years of racing.”

The deal will also see Valerio assume duties in the team for the remainder of the GP2 Asia Series, although it is yet to be determined whether he is replacing Roldan Rodriguez or Will Bratt.

Will Bratt won his drive care of winning the 2009 Euro3000 series run by Coloni. lets hope he is not dropped or potental drivers in AutoGP might be wondering if the prize fund they announced might not be paid out.
