Perez gets Barwa Addax call-up too

Official: Sergio Perez to drive for Barwa Addax in Abu Dhabi.
Following on from news that Giedo van der Garde will replace Max Chilton at Barwa Addax for the GP2 Asia Series race of Abu Dhabi from February 5-6, the team has also revealed that Sergio Perez will make the switch for that event as well.

The decision has been made as Abu Dhabi has been added to the GP2 Main Series calendar for 2010.

“I'm aware that this will be a very important season for me as a great part of my future will depend on my performances and for this reason I've prepared harder than ever,” said Perez.

“Racing in Abu Dhabi will mean I'll get to know another new circuit that we'll be racing in the championship and that I'll start the season with more race rhythm. I appreciate all the efforts that the team are making.”

“We think it is a good decision to let Giedo and Sergio get to know the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi better,” added owner and team boss, Alejandro Agag.

“The track has been added to the European calendar and will be the last race of the season. We want to fight for the championship and need to prepare ourselves well. Decisions in standings are always made at the end of the season so that's why we made this choice.”
