Rosenzweig joins Super Nova for GP2 graduation

American Jake Rosenzweig will contest final two rounds of GP2 Asia Series with Super Nova.
Jake Rosenzweig will continue his rapid ascent through the single-seater ranks after signing to contest the remaining two GP2 Asia Series rounds in Bahrain with Super Nova.

The 20-year old American driver is no stranger to David Sears' team, after completing a successful main series test at Paul Ricard in November 2009, but steps up to the F1 feeder series for the first time ahead of the round three double-header in Sakhir. Rosenzweig is in only his third year of single-seater racing after a very successful karting career, and has already shown tremendous potential after taking a podium result in his debut year in the F3 Euroseries.

“I'm very, very excited to have signed for a team with the pedigree of Super Nova and am very much looking forward to driving the car this weekend in Bahrain, which will be my first experience of the GP2 race weekend format," he commented, "I aim to learn quickly and be in with a chance of scoring points this weekend, enabling me to be in an even stronger position for the final race of the championship.”

After a disappointing weekend in Abu Dhabi, Super Nova believes that the American youngster has the ability to deliver the strong points finishes needed to consolidate its position in the top three of the championship standings.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jake into the Super Nova team," principal Sears said, "I have followed his career in Europe over the past couple of years and have been very impressed by the rate of progress that he has shown us. This was demonstrated when he drove our GP2 Series car last year and showed a great deal of talent, as well as a mature engineering approach. I have no doubts that, once he has got used to the GP2 Asia car, he will be fighting at the sharp end of the grid.”
