Turvey leads iSport 1-2 in Bahrain

Oliver Turvey leads the way for iSport during practice for the GP2 Asia event in Bahrain
Oliver Turvey posted the quickest time for iSport during practice for the final round of the GP2 Asia series in Bahrain.

The Briton posted a best time of 2min 08.459secs during the season to edge out team-mate – and newly crowned champion – Davide Valsecchi as iSport locked out the top two positions. Virgin Racing F1 test driver Luiz Razia was third quickest for the Rapax team as he makes his return to the grid.

The session opened with Christian Vietoris, Alvaro Parente, Javier Villa and Charles Pic fighting for the quickest time, while the iSport duo waited in pitlane.

When Turvey hit the track, he soon went to the top of the pile before Razia posted the quickest time of the session.

Valsecchi then edged ahead of Razia before Turvey set the quickest lap of the session late on to lead the way into qualifying.

Behind the top three, Meritus duo Alexander Rossi and Luca Filippi were fourth and fifth, while the top six was completed by Arden's Javier Villa.

Alvaro Parente, Sam Bird, Charles Pic and Jules Bianchi rounded out the top ten.
