Cecotto inks deal with Trident

OFFICIAL: Trident Racing and Johnny Cecotto join forces for the 2010 GP2 Series.
Johnny Cecotto will compete for Trident Racing this season in the GP2 Series, it has been confirmed.

Cecotto, son of world motorbike champion and race car driver Johnny Alberto Cecotto, has already made his debut for the team at Abu Dhabi, in the GP2 Asia Series.

"I'm extremely happy to be back in the GP2 paddock with Trident Racing, as I have already worked with them and scored good results too," said Cecotto, who will test this week with the outfit at Paul Ricard.

"The upcoming season will be really demanding yet decisive for me, and I will do all I can to get the best possible results with the whole team."

Trident also added that 'talks are currently taking place to fill the second team's seat' and that Adrian Zaugg is 'among the leading candidates'. The South African is also set to be fielded at Le Castellet.

"I'm really proud to have Johnny Cecotto in the team," said team boss Maurizio Salvadori. "He's very young but also extremely talented. We've already worked together, and the respective feeling has been great. I'm looking forward with confidence to the 2010 season. I'm sure we'll be able to show our full potential, also thanks to Johnny's support."
