Season summary:

Agonisingly close, but sadly it wasn't to be Sam Bird's championship year after all following that fateful stall on the front row of the grid in the final feature race at Abu Dhabi. In the end Fabio Leimer's consistency just pipped the Brit to the title, but it's been an impressive year nonetheless for Bird with five race wins (at Bahrain, Monaco, Silverstone, Spa and Singapore) and a further second place at Monza. All of these successes helped to boost Russian Time toward clinching the team trophy in their maiden season of GP2 competition, which no one saw coming when they signed up to the series just a few weeks before the first race of the year in Sepang in March.
